“그런데 주인이 내야하는 텍스도 넘 많다며 우리 페이체크에서 빼가고 있습니다. 본인이 내야하는게 15%지만 우리한테 7.5% 내라하면서..왜 본인은 가져가지도 않는 팁에 대한 텍스를 내줘야하냐면서.. Labor Department 에서 여기저기 찾아보다가 혹 이곳에서 조언을 들을수 있을까해서 글 남김니다. 어떻게 대처해야하는지요..”------> What your employer is doing is absolutely correct. Notice that when you get your paycheck they first add the tips to your income, tax the total, and then deduct the amount of the tips. So, there is a net zero on the check with respect to the tips.As an example, let's say you make $800 per week in base pay and receive $200 in credit card tips. Now, you take the $200 out of the register, so you have $200 in cash. Then, come payday, your employer adds the $200 to your $800 base pay, making a total of $1000. They then deduct taxes, SS, unemployment and/or any other required deductions. Let's say they total $150. That makes your net pay for the week $850. They then deduct the $200 in tips and give you a check for $650. ALSO, there are tips that your employer assigned to you in addition to the tips you reported to your employer for the year. Your employer will have done this only if You worked in a restaurant, cocktail lounge, or similar business that must allocate tips to employees, and The tips you reported to your employer were less than your share of 8% of food and drink sales. If your employer allocated tips to you, they are shown separately in box 8 of your Form W-2. They are not included in box 1 with your wages and reported tips. If box 8 is blank, the allocated tip does not apply to you.
